The "Our Lady of Kazan" is probably the most revered Icon
by the Russian Orthodox Church;
The Virgin of Kazan is one of Russia's most sacred images.

The Kazan icon was instrumental in the miraculous intercession of the Mother of God to save the city of Kazan and All-Russia.

The original icon is believed to have been burned in a fire that consumed the St. Petersburg Cathedral of Kazan.
It was purchased by Roman Catholics in 1970.
It was handed back to the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow as a personal gift from Pope John Paul II.
The Virgin of Kazan is considered the protectors of Russia.

Also known as Pantocrator - "Ruler of All".
The oldest known icon of Christ Pantocrator was painted in the sixth century and is preserved in the monastery of St. Catherine in the Sinai desert in the Holy Land.

Christ's Halo is inscribed with a cross and the Greek letters meaning,
"I Am Who I Am", as God Presented Himself in Exodus 3:14.
His cloak is dark blue signifying the mystery of His divine life.

His tunic is a bright crimson red to signify His human blood shed for us all.
The face of Jesus follows ancient traditions. The eyes are large and open, looking directly into the viewer's soul. The forehead, identified as the seat of wisdom, is high and convex. The nose is long and slender, contributing a look of nobility. The mouth is small and closed in the silence of contemplation.
The hair is curled and flowing, recalling the endless flow of time. The neck and body are powerful reminders of His strength and majesty.

The basic idea of the Trinity is love, - the unity and indivisibility of the three persons of the Trinity;
"The Son loves His Father, the Father loves His Son," "The Love of the Heavenly Father Is Given to the World through His Son",
the necessity and goodness of love,
and a bond based on the trust between individuals.

Every color and every feature has a meaning. The color blue denotes divinity, red - the life blood of humanity, yellow/gold - eternal life, green - new birth, brown - the earth from which all things grow, black - death, orange - revolution, and white/silver - purity.

Almighty Judge and the King of Kings!
This icon is truly a theological statement in painting.
The iconography is based mainly on the Book of Revelation by the Evangelist St. John.
It shows Christ as he will appear to the world at the end of time.
The figure of Christ is portrayed full length on the throne.
Christ is wearing a tunic, sitting on a throne and holding a book.
In the background of the icon, the corners of which are elongated there are four different images: A Man, A Lion, A Calf, and An Eagle.
These are the symbols of the four Evangelists, namely: Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John, who disseminated the soul-saving good news of Christ throughout the world.
Over the red square there is a blue oval which symbolizes the spiritual world; In the blue oval there are angels, i.e. the heavenly powers.
Over the blue oval, there is a red diamond, a symbol of the invisible or spiritual world.

Our Lady of Czestochowa
Also known as The Black Madonna is an icon some believe to have been painted by St. Luke on a table made by St. Joseph
for the Holy Family in Nazareth.
Others believe the icon was painted in ninth century Greece or Italy.
The icon is now housed in the monastery of Jasna Gora
in Czestochowa in south west Poland.
The Black Madonna is believed to have saved Poland several times from attackers who threatened to overrun her. She is seen as the Queen of Poland and is the focus of Polish Catholics' intense devotion to the Mother of God.
